A Romantic Evening of Wine, Chocolate, and Great Music!

Flagstaff Cultural Partners is hopelessly devoted to providing a memorable and fun Valentine’s Day evening. Grab a date and a pair of tickets for the 5th Annual Valentine’s Concert at the Coconino Center for the Arts on Valentine’s Day 2012. The evening features the harmonious sounds of local Folk duo Dave McGraw and Mandy Fer starting at 7:30pm with a pre- concert wine and chocolate tasting at 6:30pm.

Human chemistry is indeed a mercurial thing. And adding any artistic endeavor into that
mysterious balance can, every so often, create some true magic. For Dave McGraw and Mandy
Fer (pronounced fair), the delicate intertwining of music, life, and that always-fine interpersonal
equilibrium has borne fruit in the shape of a truly one-of-a-kind artistic partnership.

This concert marks McGraw and Fer’s farewell from Flagstaff, as well as the release of the
songwriters’ first official collaborative album, Seed of a Pine, This album displays the duo’s striking
ability to blend their lush folk and Americana-influenced styles. McGraw’s consoling, velvety
baritone voice coupled with Fer’s soaring and subtly powerful vocal approach puts a spit-shine
polish on the finely crafted body of songs they have generated together. The intricate weavings
of their vocal harmonies are undeniably exceptional. McGraw’s hard-hitting tunes echo narratives
of the culture and landscape of the American West. Fer takes a more dreamy approach, evoking
complex and ethereal imagery within her sultry and haunting melodies. Her potent electric
lead guitar playing bravely propels this duo through their uniquely heartfelt and spirited live
performances.

Doors will open at 6:30pm on Tuesday, February 14, 2012 for a wine and chocolate tasting before the concert begins. Fine wines and chocolates created by local chocolatiers will be served in the
gallery and are included with the purchase of a ticket for the evening’s concert. Dave McGraw and
Mandy Fer take the stage at 7:30pm. Tickets are $16 each - get your tickets early because this show always sells out.
