COCONINO CENTER FOR THE ARTS

Join us for an elegant evening as we celebrate Flagstaff's
50th Anniversary of dark skies protection!

Five players from the Flagstaff Symphony Orchestra perform for this String Quintet Concert in the intimate setting of the theater at the Coconino Center for the Arts. The Flagstaff Symphony has a 59-year history of high quality classical music in the Flagstaff community. For more information about FSO's programs, visit their website. Players for this concert are: Marty Cook, Joe DiBartolo, Mary DiBartolo, Andrea Graves and Kim Sullivan.

The Flagstaff Dark Skies Coalition celebrates, promotes, and protects the glorious dark skies of Flagstaff and northern Arizona. The world's first lighting ordinance was passed on April 15, 1958 by Flagstaff City Council. It banned advertising search lights that threatened to mar the night sky for professional astronomers. 2008 marks the 50th anniversary of that historic event and the beginning of the dark skies movement that is reducing unnecessary light pollution in many parts of the world. Visit the Flagstaff Dark Skies website for more information.

Tickets for this show are $15/advance and $18/door. Children under 12 are admitted at half price. For more information, contact the Center at (928) 779-2300.
