Flagstaff Cultural Partners is proud to present the first ever 10x10 Exhibition and Sale at the Coconino Center for the Arts. Over 100 artists will display in the exhibition to commemorate and celebrate Arizona’s Centennial. Each ten-inch by ten-inch piece of artwork will sell or start at auction for only 100 dollars!

The 10x10 Exhibition, which serves as a fundraiser for Flagstaff Cultural Partners and the Coconino Center for the Arts, showcases over 100 artists who have taken on the challenge of producing an original work within the confines of a ten-inch by ten-inch space (or ten by ten by ten in the instance of three-dimensional work). The invited artists use a variety of media such as painting, photography, metal, ceramics, glasswork, wood, textiles, and more. This unique exhibition allows artists to think “inside of the box” while not necessarily using only their preferred medium. You might see a fantastic charcoal drawing by an artist typically known for acrylic paintings, or a photograph from a ceramic artist. The only boundary is 100 square inches.

“I think that the 10x10 Show is an excellent opportunity for artists to throw caution to the wind and let their creative minds take over,” says John Tannous, Executive Director for Flagstaff Cultural Partners. “It is also a great way to celebrate Arizona’s centennial. I love the contrast between tradition and innovation that is represented in this exhibition.”

Members of Flagstaff Cultural Partners and participating artists are invited to attend an exclusive preview of the exhibition on Saturday, January 14, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Center. Members will have the opportunity not only to view the show and speak with the artists about their work, but they will also have the first opportunity to purchase artwork through a silent auction. If you are interested in membership, please visit culturalpartners.org.

The public opening reception for the 10x10 Exhibition is Saturday, January 21, 2012 from 6:00-8:00pm at the Center. Most of the participating artists will be present during the opening reception. This is a great opportunity to view and purchase the handmade pieces. There will also be food, beverages, live entertainment.

Following the reception at 8:00pm is a concert by classical guitarist and award-winning composer, Johannes Moller. This is part of the 2011-2012 concert series presented by Grand Canyon Guitar Society. Tickets and information are available at canyonguitar.org or at (928) 213- 0752.

The 10x10 Art Exhibition will be open Tuesday-Saturday, 11:00am-5:00pm through February 22, 2012 at the Coconino Center for the Arts. The Center is located at 2300 N. Fort Valley Road in Flagstaff, Arizona. For more information dial (928) 779-2300.
